Having fun and bringing community together
This summer saw the launch of a fantastic new community initiative as Bolton at Home held its first summer event at Primrose Court, bringing together local families for a day of connection, creativity, and fun. With the sun shining and spirits high, children from the area took part in a wide range of free activities—including sports, rounders, archery, badminton, colouring, and loom band making. Each child was also treated to a free packed lunch, ensuring that every family could enjoy the day without worry. But beyond the games and laughter, the event also had a strong focus on community support and digital inclusion—a growing priority in today’s increasingly connected world. As part of a new and exciting partnership between Opus Broadband and Bolton at Home, Opus attended the event to offer free internet connections to local residents.
The aim is to reduce digital poverty, ensuring that more families have access to the online tools and services they need for education, employment, healthcare, and staying in touch with loved ones. A representative from Opus said: “We are so pleased to be working with Bolton at Home in the community and help residents by offering this free connection. It’s about more than just internet—it’s about access, opportunity, and inclusion.” Throughout the day, the Opus team chatted with residents, answered questions, booked installation appointments on the spot, and handed out free Opus goodies—adding an extra buzz of excitement to the event.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment between Opus Broadband and Bolton at Home to bridge the digital divide in communities where connectivity can’t be taken for granted. With more
events planned throughout the summer, this partnership continues to create real, lasting impact—empowering residents with the tools they need to thrive both online and offline.
Opus will be attending a range of Bolton at Homes summer events over July and August to speak to residents and engage with the community.
